Severn Toll to rise while Dartford Crossing on hold

Stagecoach Ashford depot doubles drivers over 5 years

Stagecoach has almost doubled driver numbers in the Ashford area over the last five years. With over 325,000 passenger journeys made each week on the 21 routes operated from the Ashford depot, Stagecoach is on target to increase its driver team from 50 to 100 by the end of this year, with 96 currently employed.

Stagecoach staff run for Demelza Hospice

Nostalgic trip for 90th birthday

A former bus conductress took a nostalgic trip down memory lane when she boarded a 1964 classic AEC Regent double decker for her 90th birthday. The now retired Beatrice MacDonald relived her bus conducting days with the East Kent road car company when she donned her original uniform for the special journey.

Bluewater to open events centre

A purpose-built events venue will open later this year at the Bluewater centre in Kent. The new Bluewater Events Venue, covering 5,200 sq metres (56,000 sq ft) on two floors, will hold retail and leisure-led events and exhibitions, and extend Bluewater’s day-out experience for visitors.

Eurolines launches new Brussels service

Route to use Excalibur Coaches’ new Irizar i6-bodied Scanias The Kent Messenger newspaper joined Eurolines managing director John Gilbert to unveil a new coach service linking Kent with Dunkerque, Ghent and Brussels. To mark the occasion, Eurolines arranged for the coach to feature special ‘Kent Messenger’ branding to help promote the region across Europe.
