First recognises ‘Drive Green’ champion

First Aberdeen driver, Malcolm Wilson, was recently recognised by senior management as one of First’s best drivers. Malcolm consistently achieved high scores in the company’s ‘DriveGreen’ initiative, which is designed to reward and recognise the safest and greenest drivers within the business.

Stagecoach backs out of First depot talks

Stagecoach has walked away from talks with FirstGroup about taking over London bus assets which have reportedly been on sale for months, according to The Scotsman. It is understood the two groups could not agree on a price after FirstGroup invited “expressions of interest” for the assets late last year.

Scooter owners to be issued bus permits

South Yorkshire mobility scooter users will be issued with permits to clear up confusion over whether they are allowed to travel on buses. The region’s passenger transport executive (SYPTE) is launching the Scooter Code scheme with First and Stagecoach.

First appears before TC over punctuality

First’s Greater Manchester bus company is to appear before traffic commissioner Beverley Bell over the issue of punctuality. The move follows an investigation by VOSA last year. First could face a fine of £550 per vehicle if it is found to have missed the punctuality target.

Two new Panthers for First’s railair coach service

First in Berkshire has introduced two Plaxton Panthers to its frequent railair.com Reading-Heathrow service. The coaches are built on a 12.3m Volvo B9R chassis and feature a PLS Wheelchair lift at the front entrance with Thermoking air-conditioning throughout the vehicle.
